Practical support for sustainable and circular sport tourism
The CSTAS Help Desk is a practical support service developed within the LISTEN project to help sport clubs, federations, event organisers and other sport organisations use the Circular Sport Tourism Advisory System (CSTAS) in their everyday activities.
CSTAS helps organisations turn sustainability goals into practical actions related to travel, venues, resources, procurement, inclusion and simple monitoring. If you have a question about CSTAS or are unsure where to start, you can contact the LISTEN project team or your national contact point for practical guidance.
No registration is required to use the Help Desk. Simply choose your national contact point and send your question by email.
WHAT IS CSTAS?
The Circular Sport Tourism Advisory System (CSTAS) is a practical framework developed within the LISTEN project to help sport organisations make sport-related travel, events, camps, training activities and other sport tourism practices more sustainable, circular and inclusive.
CSTAS is designed as a practical and proportionate alternative to complex sustainability systems. It helps organisations identify priorities, choose a small number of realistic actions, clarify responsibilities with venues and partners, keep simple evidence and improve their activities over time.
CSTAS is practical, modular and proportionate. You do not need to implement the whole system at once — start with what is relevant and build from there.
WHO IS THE HELP DESK FOR?
The CSTAS Help Desk is open to organisations and stakeholders involved in sport-related travel, events, camps, training activities and sport tourism.
It is particularly relevant for sport clubs and local sport organisations, sport federations, event and camp organisers, sport venues and facility operators, municipalities and public sport actors, tourism organisations and other local partners involved in sport tourism.
HOW CAN WE HELP?
The Help Desk provides practical guidance on the main areas covered by CSTAS.
Getting started with CSTAS — choosing the most relevant CSTAS pathway and realistic actions. Mobility & Travel — participant travel information, shared travel and mobility coordination. Venue Cooperation — waste, water, accessibility, services and shared responsibilities with venues.
We can also support questions related to Green Procurement, including reuse and smarter purchasing; Inclusion & Accessibility, including participant information and participation barriers; and Monitoring & Reporting, including simple indicators, evidence and post-activity review.

NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
Start with one activity and a few realistic actions. CSTAS does not require your organisation to implement every sustainability measure or every tool at once.
A simple starting point is to choose one activity, select 2–4 realistic actions, decide who is responsible, apply them and review what worked afterwards.

LISTEN – Circularity in sport tourism – the right path to destination is an Erasmus+ Sport project supporting more sustainable, circular and inclusive approaches to sport tourism.
